Job Description

  • Responsible for coordinating all plant engineering tasks, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, utilities, and general service)
  • Ensuring the work is executed in accordance with the design, specifications, and instructions
  • Coordinating preventive maintenance planning and equipment condition monitoring
  • Responding to equipment failure and breakdown to minimise production losses
  • Reporting Non-Conformities and ensuring appropriate follow up action/s.
  • Managing on site subcontractors and work quality.
  • Working with the Process Plant Manager to establish an operating and capital budget.
  • Planning, approving and monitoring any expenditure under your authority.
  • Working with the Planner and Store to organise appropriate levels of inventory of consumables and spare parts
  • Ensuring all activities are conducted safely and with appropriate procedures, safeguards and controls in place and utilised.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the team to identify areas requiring improvement and implementing training and coaching measures.
  • Promoting and developing the skills of subordinates through the transfer of technology and skill development through on-the-job training programs.
  • Ensuring personnel have the appropriate equipment, licenses, skills, induction and training to safely undertake their tasks.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma, Certificate IV or Mechanical/Electrical Trade qualified or similar.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in plant maintenance with minimum 5-year experience as Superintendent/foreman level.
  • Experience with Mineral processing crushing, millings, gravity circuits, and flotation is highly desired.
  • Experience within the mining sector in Africa preferred
  • Working experience with Microsoft Excel & Word, and ERP systems (Pronto, SAP)
  • Possesses strong training and mentoring skills with the ability to develop an effective team
