Job Description

  • Responsible to project manage the environmental legislative processes applicable to the relevant country;
  • Maintain an awareness of country applicable legislation and the potential impact on the various projects;
  • Ensure the team maintains a high-quality standard in the services provided and in the deliverables produced;
  • Participate in marketing the company and bringing in new business/projects;
  • Effectively manage tasks relating to team management which includes resource allocation and workload forecasting as well as budget and revenue forecasting;
  • Manage project budgets and schedules and liaise with clients and authorities
  • Effectively manage and co-ordinate the day-to-day office administration;
  • Project supervise Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) according to the relevant legislation);
  • Project supervise Environmental Permitting and Mining Applications;
  • Work in close collaboration with specialists from other disciplines;
  • Consult with affected parties;
  • Build and maintain a strong network of relationships
  • Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Train and develop junior staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Post graduate degree in Environmental Management or similar.
  • Professional Registration would be beneficial. (e.g. EAPASA/CIWEM etc.)
  • 5 + years’ experience, preferably within an environmental consultancy.
  • Project Management Certificate would be beneficial.
  • Understanding of applicable environmental and social legislation.
  • Understanding and practical experience with environmental authorization processes.
  • Superior EIA and EMP report writing.
  • Proven experience in large Project Managing environmental and social processes.
  • Proven experience in managing a Project team.
  • Excellent communication skills (Both verbal and written).
  • Experience and knowledge of the resources industry (mining sector, oil and gas and renewables) would be helpful
  • Willing to travel locally and internationally, including Africa.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK
