Job Description

  • Provide customer support encompassing safety, coaching mine Artisans and Helpers in achieving lowest cost per ton
  • See that maintenance and production activities are attended to
  • Responsible for travelling between mines to ensure that this is successfully done
  • Conduct daily pre-maintenance and inspections
  • Report writing on all relevant activities on technical / operational issues
  • Drive productivity improvement and quality performance
  • Uphold safety standards and good housekeeping

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualified Millwright (MQA or CTC) No other trade certificate will be accepted
  • Grade 12/Std 10 or N3 with Maths, Science, Electrical Trade Theory, Mechanical Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics and/or Engineering drawing
  • An MQA accredited Millwright qualification. No other trade certificate will be accepted
  • Flameproof and Gas Testing certificates (MQA or CTC) No other certificates will be accepted
  • Driver’s license and own reliable transport
  • Must be computer and database literate (MS Word, Ms Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint)
  • Experience of JNA I and JNA II and Faceboss 2 is crucial
  • High level knowledge and experience of JOY machinery and Fletcher (JOY CM’s 12HM31AAA, 12 HM31B, Fletcher HDDR)
  • Knowledge on 7LS JNA2 Shearer will be an advantage
  • At least 5-years’ experience on JOY underground equipment.
