Job Description

  • An External Retail sales Representative generating sales by calling on existing and new retail prospects
  • Scheduling regular meetings with the client to introduce new products and promote the company’s services
  • Achieve targets
  • Expand product rang in store
  • Present and sell company services of stock management and products to industrial customers on a daily basis.
  • Promote current specials by familiarising oneself with the current specials; and communicating the specials to all customer in various ways and through various media platforms
  • Introduce product rages to customers by scheduling an appointment with the customer on a weekly basis
  • Ensure that existing customers are visited at least once a month to analyse stock, determine sales opportunities and propose new ranges.
  • Demonstrate products using demo trailer to new and existing customers on a monthly basis
  • Analyse customer’s stock in store by observing current products and conducting a needs analysis to determine opportunity to propose new ranges continuously.
  • Negotiate product ranges and pricing structures with buyers, owners and the sales team when visiting a site.
  • Communicate company or product developments of competitors to the relevant Fastener manager or Hardware Manager.
  • Adequately provide suggested stock orders to customers by scheduling a meeting or telephonically contacting the customer on a regular basis
  • Provide training to customer’s sales staff to ensure that they understand the companies value proposition and are comfortable to sell our products on a regular basis.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • 2 -5 Years sales experience in the hardware retail sector
  • Advanced Product Knowledge
  • Able to pick up heavy goods.
  • Must be based in Middleburg or Witbank
