Configuration of Substation and Network SCADA applications
Commissioning, testing and designing of protection relays and schemes

Minimum Requirements
•    Engineering Degree with 3-5 years related field experience (especially substations)
•    Or Diploma with 5 years related experience will have preference when from substations environment.
•    Previous protection testing and commissioning experience
•    Visual Basic or other software programming experience
•    Experience in electrical utility SCADA and electrical utility communications protocols will be an advantage
•    Previous design experience will be an advantage
•    Communication networking experience an advantage, but not essential


Job Specification
•    Monitoring of Substation equipment
•    Remote control of multiple substations primary switching devices
•    Data logging and generation of alerts and Sequence of Events lists
•    Development of interactive graphic single line substation and plant diagrams
•    Development of automation functions/scripts
•    Application and development of Energy Management functionality
•    Configuration of substation communications gateway:
•    Application and configuration of multi protocol communication gateways for facilitation connection to substation relays, meters, RTU’s etc
•    Develop device protocol templates using legacy, proprietary and new substation device protocols
•    Designing and specifying Substation and Network communications Architectures
•    Designing and protection schemes and systems for medium, distribution and transmission power systems (including CAD)
•    Provide technical and application support for protection relays and systems
•    Testing and commissioning of complete communications and integration solution
•    Commissioning and testing of protection relays and schemes
•    First level repair of relays
•    Training of client personnel
