Leading electrical engineering company is looking for a Junior Project Manager who has a desire for REAL RESPONSIBILITY – there is tangible career growth to Senior Project Management within the company
Minimum requirements
- Minimum of a COMPLETE National Diploma (Electrical Heavy Current, Civil or Construction Management). BSc, B-Tec preferable.
- MUST have at least 2 years experience in exposure to project management and working on overhead powerlines
- Must get involved in the nitty gritty every day issues of project management
- Excellent communication written and oral skills – must be fluent in English
- Ability to handle stress and think quickly
- Software packages: Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
- Ability to learn to use in house Software for various job functions such as invoicing, drawing control, ordering etc
Job Specification
Responsible for the Management of turnkey line construction contracts
Compilation of tenders for OHL projects
Working closely with the site manager
Project planning skills and or project management courses
Procurement
Financial Control of projects (cash flows, invoicing and cost control)
Site issues (Down to organising nuts and bolts)
Interface with the various support structures and divisions such as Shipping, Stores, Design Office and Manufacturers
Liaise with site managers and understand client needs
Subcontractor control and management
Checking and doing various designs on foundations, profiling and structures.
Application and checking of designs
Experience with PLS CAD would be an advantage
Ensuring project runs according to ISO 9001 (Preferable)
Good document control
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Practical and logical nature
