Minimum Requirements
- Completed Btech or BEng Degree (High Voltage Engineering)
- Project Management Diploma advantageous
- Hands-on experience in high voltage overhead lines / supertension cable installation
- Must be capable of report writing in English
Job Specification
Project management and planning of transmission line construction
Management of multiple construction sites
Contract negotiations, contracts in South Africa and internationally 11kV to 400kV
Compilation of tenders for Overhead Line Projects
Site installations
Procurement – Major and minor equipment
Able to discuss primary and secondary designs with clients
Application and checking of designs; civil, mechanical and electrical
Ensuring quality of work by implementing QA procedures
Health, safety and environmental management by applying the OHS Act and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
Project Budgeting and Financial Control of projects
Report writing
Interface with the various support structures and divisions such as Shipping, Stores, Design Office and Manufacturers
Subcontractor control and management
Supervise and motivate subordinates and site personnel
Require a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Responsible for final testing, commissioning and hand over of contracts
Ability to work under pressure
