  • In working for a well established Engineering and Manufacturing company, the successful candidate will be reporting to the Workshop Supervisor and is required to be a qualified turner machinist. One will be expected to set and operate CNC, VMC and Teach lathes according to customer specifications.

Job Description

  • Operate, troubleshoot, set up and program VMC, teach lathes and CNC
  • Use tools such as callipers, micrometers, rulers and height gauges to inspect completed work in accordance to specifications
  • Manufacture drawing components accurately
  • Quality control during the fabrication process according to per hold point for preliminary quality control checks
  • Ensure that there is no non-conformance
  • Report back to management with regards to time schedules, solutions, extra costs, equipment quality and deficiencies
  • Ensure that all the right tools are available for production in the workshop
  • Ensure that all legal requirements and safety procedures are upheld
  • Maintain cleanliness in the workshop

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric
  • Qualified Turner/ Machinist
  • Proficient in Mastercam, Edgecam, Inventor and/or Autocad/Solidworks
  • 5 years’ exp. In a manufacturing environment
  • Tool and Gauge exp.
  • Fluent in reading drawings
  • Valid driver's license
