In South Africa qualifications you would normally associate with the supply chain sector would include degrees and diplomas like: BCom Logistics or Supply Chain Management. BTech Purchasing Management or a BCom with Procurement experience. These are just a few of the vast amount of qualifications available in the logistics/supply chain industry. There are also numerous certificates that you can get i.e. supply chain management certificate, export certificate,Dangerous goods packaging/DG declaration certificates, logistics management
Lately as the world is getting more “flat” i.e. its is far easier today to get goods from across the globe to a specific destination, the demand for personal in the area of logistics and supply chain have dramatically increased. In all areas from financial to office commercial to specific buyers and procurement personnel. Certain companies see the need for more and more logistics personnel as they grow and they reach out into markets further away. These days it is possible for a small company in Wilderness to do business globally and ship goods and information to basically any destination with great ease.
